Take Time for yourself

It is in nature of every woman to sacrifice their needs and wants and protect and fulfill the wants of their loved ones. This is how women are. Men could be tagged as hunters and the women could be tagged as gatherers. This phenomenon no longer exists in the 21st century. Women take the role of two, and now have quite a lot on their plate. Family pressures and work pressures are the worst duo and they are constantly battling it, overworking to a point they have no time for themselves. It takes a toll on their body and mind. There are ways to overcome this feeling of constant neglect and really just…live a little.

Cut yourself some slack

You need a break! You need “Me” time. Make this a routine like brushing your teeth. Take 2hrs out in a day and dedicate this to yourself. It could be anything from a hobby, to listening to your favorite tunes, primping yourself up or just couch potato-ing. You need your time to do things that are important to you.

Fitness First

Tottering in your heels all day does not count. Your focus should be completely on your body. If you can’t do a strenuous work out, stick to something more calming like yoga. A couple of “Surya Namaskars” can do wonders to you. Whether you dance away as cardio, or pumping away your abs, find something that keeps you physically fit.

Healthy bites

For all that energy it’s necessary to eat well. With the lifestyle you have chosen, you need to have some good nutritious foods. Salads may not fill a girl up but have these mini snacks in between to keep you from burning out. It could be as simple as assorted nuts, fruits or protein bars.

Hydrate, girl

You’re a woman on the prowl and you need to hydrate yourself. Water is important, drink it. 8 cups of water is what an average woman should consume. It keeps you healthy, less lethargic and gives you the glow you seriously need.

Sleep tight

A goodnights rest can do wonders to you. You will feel alert and on your toes minus the unhealthy caffeine. You need 7 hours of sleep to be active all day and sleep deprivation will make you sluggish and unproductive.

Social Butterfly

There needs to be a balance between work and more work. Take time out to have a quick chat. Doing everything alone can be really hard and take a toll on your mental health. You need some time off for some mindless chatter or really confiding your inner most thoughts and fears. Whether it’s your partner or your friends, it doesn’t matter. It’s good to share sometimes. Remember that it takes a lot of courage to owe up to such great responsibilities and you need to be your absolute best to make it.

So take a second out to remind yourself you are important and always put yourself first, because who will?
