Measuring Your Bra Size - A Step-by-Step Guide from Trishlaemart

If the bra you are wearing currently is either loose that makes your breast sag or very stiff that almost holds your rib cage very tightly then YOU ARE WEARING A WRONG BRA like how most of the women do.

Wrong bras NOT only spoils your look but also make you feel so uncomfortable that you will lose interest in almost anything that comes your way.

You can measure your bra size by yourself just by following a few steps...

First thing first... Relax, breath normally, do not push your chest out or up and stand straight with your arms down,

Step 1: Measure your band size:
Get an inch tape and measure your rib cage (under your breast) by wrapping the measure tape comfortably and just ensure that the tape is not twisted and is parallel to the floor. Seek a help of someone, may be your husband, mother or sister to measure you and make a note of the measurement. If you get an even number, just add 4 to the actual measurement (Example: if you get 28, then add 4 and make it as 32) or if it is an odd number, then add 5 to the actual measurement and make it a even number (Example: if you get 29, then add 5 and make it as 34). Bra size comes only in even number hence you need to calculate it this way.

Bra size - 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, and so on...

Step 2: Measure the cup size:
After measuring the band size, you need to measure your cup size. This time you should measure your breast by wrapping the inch tape (make sure that the inch tape goes over your nipples). Also, be clear that the inch tape is placed properly and is not twisted, etc... once you get the measurement of you cup do the math (I hope you are a mathematics genius :-)).

Ok, here we go... Let us assume that your cup measurement is 36”. Take the number from the step 1 (NOT the measured number, but the calculated number after adding either 4 0r 5. Let’s say your band measurement is 30...Now simply subtract cup size – band size.

In this case It is... 36”-32” = 4”... So what does this 4” represent? The difference 4” represents the cup size in the form of alphabets. In this case the bra size is 36D.

Look in to the following table to identify the alphabets for different cup sizes...

-1 to 0 inch difference - A Cup
1 - 2 inches difference - B Cup
3-4 inches difference - C Cup
4-5 inches difference - D Cup
5-6 inches difference - E Cup or DD Cup
6-7 inches difference - DDD or EE or F Cup
7-8 inches difference - FF or EEE or G Cup

That's it with measuring your bra size. You can also use this calculator to find your right bra size...
